Jour Neuf – 12 de Juillet 2015: Voyage à travers France

Coming soon...

Monet's house and garden in Giverny, France outside of Paris.

The ponds in Monet's gardens which were the subject of many of his "en plein air" paintings including his "Water Lily" murals which we saw a few days ago at the Musee de l'Orangerie.

Some of the flowers in the gardens at Monet's house:

Monet's row boats.

The Cathedral Notre Dame de Chartes ("Our Lady of Chartes") about 50 miles southwest of Paris

Inside of the cathedral at Chartes.  The cathedral is in the midst of a full restoration.  This picture shows part of the cathedral that hasn't been restored yet...

...and this picture shows part of the cathedral that has been restored.
Here, a frieze that hasn't been restored encircles that altar section of the cathedral which has been restored.

Looking through the door of the Chartes Cathedral at one of its rose windows and other stained glass.

The view of Passy and the Rhone Alps just outside of Chamonix.

The view of Mont Blanc from our hotel's patio.

Our hotel, Le Fontenay-Passy.  Not the best hotel, but hard to beat this view.

Our hotel, tucked high up in the French Alps.
